Is abortion an unforgivable sin?

God forgives all sin, no sin is unforgivable as long as you really want to repent from it.

The “blood of Christ” covers all sin, if you’ve recieved Him in your life. I’m glad to see the “was” concerning your friend being with that guy.

No it is not. Jesus Christ taught that any sin can be forgiven except one….blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.

Jesus says in John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,[a] that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” This applies to everyone. The only unforgiveable sin is rejecting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. So to answer your question the people who say that are wrong. Jesus came to forgive sinners and turn them to repentence. In the story of Levi, he was asked why he ate with sinners and tax collectors. He said in Luke 5:31 “Jesus answered them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 32 I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” The people who reject this teaching are rejecting the power of Jesus to save the world. Those are the people who need help.

There is NOTHING in the Bible about abortions, and they have been around for that long at least. The problem with the idea of abortion is a lack of understanding of basic biology. Life does not ‘begin’ or ‘end’ at discreet points. Development is on a continuum. So deciding at which point it is murder, which is the basis of the claim that abortion is wrong, is tricky. If God can forgive murder, then he can forgive this, assuming that it is in fact murder in God’s eyes. This we may never know because you cannot know the mind of God, right? Somehow I think that if God didn’t understand her position, or didn’t care, then he is not terribly merciful. After all, isn’t the aborted fetus in heaven? Or is it in Hell because it was unbaptized?
