Is Aberavon’s Hollywood Park a white elephant?
Mar 5 2009 by Andrew Pugh, Port Talbot Guardian THE flagship Hollywood Park project at Aberavon seafront has been branded a white elephant following the closure of a seaside burger bar. The Burger Knight restaurant is holding a closing down sale and is due to shut its doors in the next few days. Owner of the building, David Koller, believes it could signal the death knell for the seafront regeneration project, but bosses at Neath Port Talbot Council say they remain hopeful for the scheme. It comes as the neighbouring bowling alley, which was meant to open in autumn 2006, still shows no signs of opening any time in the near future. Mr Koller has warned the Burger Knight building will be demolished if a new operator can’t be found soon and relocated to the north west of England.
