Is a written contract with the CSO required?
Yes, sections 393.201 and 393.202 require that there should be a contract for the purchase of services from the CSO signed by the consumer. The contract should include the payment terms, the description of the services that the organization is to perform for the consumer, including each guarantee and each promise of a full or partial refund and the estimated period for performing the services (not to exceed 180 days), and notice to the consumer regarding the consumer’s right to terminate the contact within 3 days after signing.
