Is a Vortec Cyclone, for cars intake, actually considered a supercharged?

Not even close. The Vortec Cyclone creates a disturbance in the airflow which, in theory, causes better air flow and better distribution of the fuel in the air. In reality, putting something in your air intake is restricting airflow and could actually decrease gas mileage and cause your car to run richer. A supercharger is basically a compressor that runs off of your crankshaft, pumping more air into your intake. This will push air into your intake manifold, instead of relying on engine vacuum. Thus increasing horsepower. The Vortec Cyclone has been discredited by many automotive professionals that I don’t understand why it is still on the market.
