Is a VBR MP3 file better quality than a 64Kbps MP3 file?
A 64 kbps MP3 file is relatively low quality for an mp3 file, as 320 kbps is the maximum. VBR (variable quality) files are generally copied in such a way that maximizes overall sound quality while minimizing the file size, so the VBR file is probably your best bet. Flac is the Free Lossless Audio Codec (basically a very high quality audio file); in order to use these (and Ogg Vorbis files) they need to be converted using a program like xACT (if you’re on a mac).
