Is a umax 450 watt psu with 25 amp on 12v good enough for xfx ati 5670?
The psu calculators are correct, although amperage on the +12V rails (not total wattage) is the most important factor. For example a Corsair 450W with it’s single rail can support cards that some off-brand 550W psus cannot. ATI inflates the published requirements for many of their low-end cards- neither the 4670 nor 5670 really require anything close to 400W, unless you’re overclocking or have several hard drives (something pushing your power consumption well above typical levels) If you have 450W, go for the much faster Radeon 4770. http://www.techspot.com/review/163-radeo… The GTX 260 and Radeon 4870 require 550W minimum (and 2 pci-e power leads, not just one) The GTS 250 and Radeon 5770 require 450W and a single power connector. The GeForce 9800GT and Radeon 4770 require 400W and a single power connector. The 9600GT and some green/low-power editions of the 9800GT only require 350W. The Radeon 45670, 5670
