Is a tongue piercing painful?
I found the numbing of my tongue the worst bit, especially as I managed to swallow a tiny bit of the anaesthetic and then felt like I couldn’t swallow! It makes you drool too lol, and at first the bar is far too big, which after a few days makes your gums and the roof of your mouth sore. The swelling seems worse the day after, and lasts for a few days. And it’s a good feeling when you get the bar down-sized. Having said all that, I went out for dinner the night I got mine done, and it never stopped me eating, well, anything lol! I wear acrylic jewellery to minimise the all-too-well-publicised tooth damage, and have a small 12mm labret so I don’t chew it so much. If you’ve ‘survived’ helix piercings, you’ll have no probs with a tongue piercing, and I bet you’ll love it! They costs about £30, and give you the perfect excuse to eat ice cream…
