Is a temping agency and a recruitment agency the same thing?
Hi Ken… I used to do recruitment, and they can be a a bit pushy…. this is generally as it’s quite a high stress job… bit of advice: If you want perm only, say so, politely but firmly, they also may want to send you somewhere that’s out of your travel zone or below what you will accept in terms of salary, do your homework to find out what sort of £ is realistic & again be very specific in what you want….(their databases use this information to find potential candidates for a role, for example if you said you’ll travel 30 miles then decide you only want to do 10 or the role they suggest isn’t highly paid enough it will irritate them as they then need to find other potential people). If you don’t have a lot of experience temp is OK as you get to try different companies, if you accept perm & hate it then leave it looks poor on your CV.
