Is a takin in the antelope family?

0

There is no such thing as the ‘antelope family’. Antelope is a catch-all term for bovids – members of the family Bovidae, which also includes cattle, buffalo, sheep and so on – which have long, slender legs. Wildebeest, eland, topi, impala, nilgai and so on are all antelopes. The takin does belong to the family Bovidae, but is described as a ‘goat-antelope’, in the subfamily Caprinae, rather than as an antelope.
