Is a St. Louis Riverboat Casino Sinking?

Looks to me like it’s just a matter of time for the President Casino, currently floating on the Admiral riverboat in St Louis. The Missouri Gaming Commission ruled that Pinnacle Entertainment (owner of the President Casino) cannot replace the boat or move the casino up or down river, but will have to stay on that boat in its current location or reapply for its license with the state. Since the Admiral is due next year for a Coast Guard inspection that it reportedly will not pass, it looks like the President Casino may already be sunk. Anyone want to place a wager on where will the new casino be? If the President goes under (so to speak), it would free up another license, which someone will undoubtedly snap up. There’s been talk of putting a new casino in Cape Girardeau, Sugar Creek (near Kansas City) or north of St Louis near the Chain of Rocks bridge. Each has its advantages: • Cape Girardeau – a college town (home to about 8000 students attending Southeast Missouri State University)
