Is a spin dryer worth having?
Definitely worth having unless you have a modern high spin machine ie a 1600rpm or 1800rpm washing machine as you will be amazed at how much extra water the spin dryer will take out of the fabrics. I had a 800rpm machine and for years used a seperate spinner for items I was going to tumble dry. This meant I was able to tumble a full load dry in 30mins (probably about a third to a quarter of the time) and so it saved a lot of electricity so save Money, time (and possibly the planet!!). I only got rid when I got my new washing machine with a 1600rpm spin!! I think in your case as you only have a small tumble dryer you will find the benefit of less time to dry a real boom. As it will take less time to dry you will not be tempted to overload your dryer – split the washing load into two drying loads of similar fabrics (all light fabrics together all heavy together) and you will get best results from the dryer without the heavy creasing people get from overloading.
