Is a soldier who fails EMT recertification barred from reenlistment?

No. NREMT certification is a requirement for MOS qualification, therefore soldiers must recertify every two years. A soldier who fails recertification may be given opportunities to obtain certification or be reclassified to another MOS. A bar is not required for those attempting recertification or those training for a new MOS, but a commander is not precluded from imposing a local bar if the soldier’s duty performance warrants one.
