Is a Singer 1507 a reliable and good sewing machine to start out on?
It’s fine for what it is — a disposable machine — but you can probably get a better machine for the money by looking in the used market. Take a look at Kate Dicey’s essay on selecting sewing machines at http://www.katedicey.co.uk Singer still has the reputation, but the machines are not nearly the quality they were pre-1970s.
