Is a shooters license required for a paintball marker in the state of queensland(australia) ?
Yes, unfortunately paintball markers are a Category A weapon in Queensland, and so you need a Firearms Licence (Category A) to possess or store one, unless you’re under 18, in which case you need a Minor’s Licence and the direct supervision of an adult with a licence. Getting one of these licences is pretty straightforward, though, provided you don’t have any convictions for drug offences, weapons offences or violent offences in the past 5 years, and have not been subject to a DVO in the last 5 years.
