Is a rigid or hard hull catamaran faster than the AERE?

Most likely, yes. Rounder hulls and a smaller sail area make the AERE’ safer, more comfortable, and very enjoyable to sail, but those features do somewhat limit the AERE’s speed. However, since the AERE’ 3.7 can fly a hull in the right conditions it can be quite a spirited sailing boat.
