Is a perpetual motion machine possible? Why?

1. I think that if a machine was made that could use the energy and motion produced by the earth’s rotation it could be possible, but then again it wouldn’t be a true perpetual motion machine. But a true perpetual motion machine is impossible, because of the law that “An object in motion will stay in motion until acted upon by an unbalanced force”. Any object built on earth will always be under the force of gravity, so no object can stay in motion forever.
