New bodies, different colors and irrelevant features are constantly coming along, but the actual functionality of paintball guns really hasn’t changed. Why, then, are many players getting ready to buy a new gun and sell their old one? In general, most players don’t need to upgrade their equipment. Weekend warriors who have operating gear should stick with what they have and focus on getting better as a player, not try to solve their problems with a better gun. While there are some definite reasons to upgrade gear such as switching to compressed air from CO2, replacing a low-end blowback or switching to an electronic hopper, these are all upgrades, not sideways trades.
