Is a mystery shopping job a scam or illegal or is it a safe/good job?
Hi, I have done it for a couple of years now, and it is a live and learn experience. I have worked for several companies, and some pay with free food/clothes/cash or whatever gift certificates to a store. Some outfits ask that you fill out tax forms, and or a lengthy survey to see if you qualify for the type of person they want shopping for them. Generally speaking the higher quality stores you shop in the better the pay is. However, some jobs pay well, but the time you put into going there, filling out the surveys, and misc. expenses can cancel out the shopping experience. I found better money in joining several focus groups companies. You can Google search some in your locality. They pay cash on the spot. I will typically get an email respond to it to see if I am a person (demographically) that they need to interview. If I fit the category I get a phone call to find out when and where they want me to go. It pays 75-150 USD for one to two hours work. Sometimes you get a meal out of th
