No, both HUD and Modular Homes are built to stringent construction and energy codes. The value of a Modular code home is in situations where: a) it is required by local ordinance b) there are numerous modular code or custom homes in the appraisal area. It then allows the appraiser to use sales on those homes as comparables and in that situation may raise the appraised value of the home.
