Is a member allowed to waive health/dental/vision insurance coverage?

0

A member with less than 20 years of service may notify SERS in writing if they wish to waive their health/dental/vision benefits. This can only be done when retiring, during the annual Benefits Choice period, or when certain changes in status occur. Once a member waives coverage, they may elect to participate in health insurance in the future if a qualifying change in status occurs, or during the annual Benefit Choice Enrollment Period.
