A member with twenty plus years may opt-out of the state health/dental and vision coverage once they retire, during the annual Benefit Choice period or when certain qualifying changes in status occur. Notify SERS in writing and an opt-out form will be mailed to you with instructions to provide proof of other insurance. Once a member opts-out, they may re-enroll during the annual Benefits Choice period or when certain change of status occurs. Opt-out forms are available on this website.
