Is a luau worth going to? Are they just a tourist attraction?

A. “Beauty” is always in the eye of the beholder, but we have attended five (5) different luaus and never fail to attend one or more, each trip. For us, a luau allows us to experience the local culture in terms of food, dance and the less tangible “spirit of aloha”. In addition, it would be difficult to find a better food, drink and entertainment value. Plus, we look forward to meeting people from all over the world and hearing how they discovered Kauai and what they have enjoyed, while on the island.
