Is a Lead Water Filter Effective in Filtering Toxic Contaminants Other Than Lead?
I was conducting a search today to find out who on the market was producing the best lead water filter. Then I was curious as to how these specialty filters were rated as far as chemical contaminants. I must say that I was rather surprised at the disparity between the various filters’ ability to handle lead, as to its competency at controlling contaminants in the water. One of the first things I was to pick a company that was highly rated, and then I searched for their most effective lead water filter. To my shock, and somewhat dismay, it was revealed that their highest rated systems for blocking lead were reverse osmosis systems. I am not saying that I was surprised that reverse osmosis blocks lead, because I knew that it did. What I was shocked about was the fact that they would advertise these as their top rated machines in this category; because of the complete lack of ability that reverse osmosis has for blocking chemical contaminants.
