Is a jet engine internal or external combustion engine?
Turbine engines are internal combustion engines that use the Brayton cycle. All combustion occurs inside the confines of the engine. An external combustion engine would be like a steam engine, where the heating of the working fluid (steam) occurs outside the physical confines of the engine, and the steam is transported to the working components of the engine.
