The legally valid marriage between the person of two different religion (in this case one Hindu & other Christian) without change of ones religion is through civil form of marriage under the Special Marriage Act,1954 in India which the US government/immigration department duly recognises. The religious form of marriage according to Hindu form will be legally valid only if, the Christian changes his/her religion, adopts the Hindu religion & then they both get married according to Hindu form of marriage, then the marriage get legal validity under the Hindu Marriage Act,1955.
