Is a generation of narcissistic children wrong?

i understand what his Doctor is saying and in a way shes right. Most parents today read up a lot about how to riaise the ‘perfect’ child and there is way too much of an information download on how children today need lots of affirmation & praise to bolster their self-esteem…with the result that parents are anxious to ‘create’ a child with no insecurities. Your way, like mine and the earlier generation makes sense… discipline when naughty and lots of hugs when good. i believe we should give children’s brains more credit…they can see thru’ well-meaning but extra praise immediately and it does more harm than good. And correction & discipline, when explained well, makes perfect sense to them.
