If your garage storage system is properly maintained and organized I don’t see why it couldn’t make sense for everyone. It doesn’t have to escalate as far as becoming a hoarder I don’t think! Everybody could use a little bit more space and organization in their lives. Why not start with an actual system in your own home.

Whether you use your garage to actually park your car, or for a workshop, or just for extra storage, you can benefit from some the new garage storage systems that are available. There are two major type of systems, wall-mounted or overhead. As the name implied, a wall-mounted system consists of wire racks, shelves, closets or cabinets, or any combination, that attach the garage wall. These are great for storing all kinds of things, including bicycles, tools and toys. If you do park your car in the garage, make sure it is wide enough to fit the additional items. A narrow garage is not a good fit for a wall system, unless you limit the storage to the back wall. The other place to store stuff in you garage is overhead.
