Is a foreign applicant allowed to directly apply for trademark registrations with the Chinese Trademark Office by themselves?
No. In China, any foreigner or foreign enterprise intending to apply for the registration of a trademark needs to entrust a trademark agency as designated by the State Administration for Industry and Commerce to act as his or its agent.
