Is a family emergency automatically excused?
This falls under prior permission by the principal at the request of the parent/guardian. Typically, Dr. Donna will excuse a death or terminal illness of extended family members or the birth of a sibling. However, the written note most state this information or the parents must call the office and let Dr. Donna know this information. The school will not call the parent and ask them to explain what the emergency was.
