Is a dwarf the same as a midget?
My son is a dwarf. I was told the odds of average size parents having a dwarf child is around 40,000.I am in Australia. There arent many around really. The proper name for the most common type of dwaarfism is Achondroplasia. There are over 200 different types of dwarfism. Anchons have normal soze torsos,short limbs(upper parts of the limbs) and big heads in proportion to their body.They are of average intelligence, altho my son is extremely smart. He is 8,and about the size of a 2 year old and only weighs 18 kilos. But he is a determined little bugger and can do most things the same as his friends. Dwarfs dont like the word midget and alot dont even like the word dwarf although it doesnt bother me! The ‘politically correct’ term is little person or short statured person. Dont tease or laugh at these people, it is very hurtful to them and really they are no different to you or I, just there life can be a little more difficult because every day things are so much harder for them to do,li
