Is a driver license require to get a motorcycle license?
I believe you can, but call the DMV to make sure. Also if you take the MSF course you skip the riding test, which I understand is very difficult. You have to ride in a circle between two circles painted on the pavement without touching either circle or putting your feet down. From what I understand, hardly anyone gets it the first time. But if you take the MSF course they waive that and you have only the written test. The written test is mostly about safety and defensive driving. I actually flunked it last time because I was expecting it to be about rules of the road, like the car test. Then the woman looked me up on the computer and said “You’re a good driver, you didn’t have to take the written test.” But it’s something you should be aware of. Good luck! California is the best place to own a bike!
