Is a dog license required in Truckee?
California State law and the Town ordinance require that all dogs be vaccinated against rabies and licensed. There is a 30 day grace period from when the dog turns the age of four (4) months, becoming a Truckee resident, or getting a new dog. A license tag on your dog’s collar is the fastest way to reunite you and your dog. A dog license also shows that you are a responsible dog owner. A rabies tag from the vet is not a dog license.
