Is a dental labial frenectomy painful?

The frenectomy itself is not painful. They will probably give you three or four shots of local anesthetic, one on each side of the frenulum, and one behind your top two front teeth. Just close your eyes, and try to relax as much as possible. The shots are quick, and there are a lot of instruments in your face during the actual procedure, but it shouldn’t hurt.
