Is a criminal traffic offense serious?
Many of the criminal clients we have helped have been charged with criminal traffic offenses. A criminal traffic offense is not to be confused with a civil traffic citation. A citation, or ticket, should indicate whether your offense is criminal, requiring that you appear in court, or if it’s merely civil, requiring you to elect one of the available options. Please note that even civil citations can have an impact on your driving privilege and some civil citations can become criminal matters if committed more than once. A Judge is legally permitted to sentence an offender to jail time or prison on any criminal traffic offense. They may also recommend a fine, classes, evaluations and probation.
