Is a ’concrete’ dead line for the writing of the Iraqi constitution necessary?

• KurdishMedia.com – By Rizgar Khoshnaw • 03/08/2005 00:00:00 During the past couple of weeks, I have been glued to the television news networks as well as the Internet reading anything that is connected and mentions the writing of the Iraqi constitution. I am extremely puzzled of why anyone, foreign or domestic, would rush this important document that will determine the future of twenty-five million people in Iraq-from Kurdistan to Basra? What will a delay of a month, or even six months, do in Iraq or any other country that has interest in Iraq? Shouldn’t all parties try their best to ensure the contents of the constitution rather than a date of completion? It seems to me, from reading the news reports, that few members who are involved in this writing wish to complete it by August 15th dead line while the majority would like a short extension. Since it is the future of twenty-five million people that is on the line, all sides, foreign and domestic should refrain from making a mistake
