At this point in time, a Commitment Ceremony is not a legally-binding ceremony, because in Washington it is not a requirement for registered same-sex Domestic Partnerships. However, even though the ceremony has no legal ramifications, to me, it is “A Marriage of Two Hearts” that are commiting to love and grow together for the rest of their lives. And, I take it very seriously.
