Is a Colt .357 air gun lethal at point blank range?
The term ‘Point Blank Range’ is one that our dumb media use indiscriminately without actually knowing the definition of the term. It does not mean what it is frequently used to mean by news reporters and CSI TV show writers, which is “very close range”. Point blank differs with each firearm and even with different ammunition. The ‘blank’ in the term refers to barrel elevation, not distance. Please read the fine Wikipedia article on the subject for your own edification. Now that you know more than most people, I hope you will use the term correctly in the future and prove your superior intelligence. Now, air guns CAN be lethal as long as the projectile penetrates or damages flesh or, more critical, blood vessels in the body. It’s not likely to kill someone, but the possibility is certainly there. Be careful and happy shooting!
