Is a claim number of an accident important?
Your claim number is tied to your particular claim. The only thing that can happen is that they can speak with the insurance company by impersonating you but nothing much can happen from that. But generally insurance companies request you verify certain information before speaking about your claim. If you are concerned I would contact your claims adjustor and let them know of your concerns.
