Is a civil engineers degree equal to a structural engineers degree?
They overlap a great deal. The structural engineer has more in -depth knowledge on strength issues. The civil has more variety in his background: traffic, hydraulics, water treatment, waste water treatment, landfills etc. Many people and some colleges consider structural to be a specialty within civil engineering.
