Is a building built with HIB elements not as sound proof as a standard brick building?
The sound proof quality of a house built with HIB elements is the same as that of a conventional brick built house. The two living board plates and the cavity element of the blocks eliminate the amplification of sounds. The clay insulation (120kg per m3) of the outer walls and the pea shingle in the inner walls both contribute to the sound protection of the inner rooms. To achieve an even higher degree of sound proofing concrete ceilings can be combined with our HIB elements.
