Is a bouffant an acceptable type of hairstyle for a kid?
I wouldn’t use it for kids unless they needed it for a costume in a play. A bouffant takes time and skill to create. It’s hard enough to get kids to sit still to get their hair brushed and put up in a pony tail. Also, it’s not the kind of hair style that stands up well to running around and rough housing, both of which shouldn’t be discouraged in kids. And finally the bouffant is an old fashioned style. It was popular in the 17th century and in the 1960’s. Besides Marge Simpson, it’s not something you see much today.
