IS a associates or bachelors degree better for photography?

A bachelor is the way to go. Photography is a very difficult profession. Many of the photographers I know also teach. However, in order to teach most schools require you to have a bachelor degree. Your plan to go to community college for photography is ok. Some community colleges have fantastic photography department. Make sure they also teach you the business part of the industry. Then when you do have your associate degree transfer to a 4 year school. You don’t have to get your bachelor in photography. There is no degree required to be a photographer. If your family is willing and able to help you pay for a bachelor degree would it be wise to take that route.
