Is a ak47 a class 3 fire arm.?
If it had full auto capability, i.e.: in the selector lever, more so the sear, than yes. It would be classified as a class 3 weapon. The ones you see in gun shops on the shelf (most of the time) are just semi-automatic rifles. You may go in and, as long as your background check clears, walk out with one the same day without having to send it in to get registered and pay all that extra money. At least where I live you can, not sure about other areas, but the laws that apply to semi-automatic rifles in your area will apply to a non-full auto AK47. Because that is all it is, a semi-automatic rifle, not an assault weapon.
