Is a 2007 Saturn Aura a good car to purchase.?
I purchased a leftover ’07 Aura XR in March and now have 9k miles on it. This is my first domestic vehicle purchase since 1980. It has been a pleasure to own and is very quick with the 3.6L engine which is derived from the Cady CTS. The only mechanical problem has been the front brakes warping after less than 100 miles (this is a known problem and was fixed under warranty). The only disappointment has been the mileage: 17 in very heavy Atlanta commuting, 19-20 in mixed driving and 25 on the one road trip so far. However, the performance, quietness, comfort and overall value for the money helps to offset the mpg. By the way, consider a new one unless the deal you’re getting is really good. I bought mine with 0% financing for 5 years. Look at your total of payments on both vehicles. Finally, on the ’09 models, you can finally get the 6-speed automatic with the 4-cylinder engine and get over 30 mpg on the highway. Hope this helps.
