Is a 15 year-old student enrolled in a driver education program covered under the instructor’s insurance if they do not have a valid learner’s licence?
Students who are not in possession of a learner’s licence, are under the age of 16, and are enrolled in a driver education course, may operate a driver education vehicle only and not any other vehicle, such as the family car. This can occur only while taking instruction from and accompanied by a certified driver instructor.
