Is a 13 year old taking poppers ok?
It is not really ok for several reasons. No 13 yr old needs poppers to enhance their sexual experience. Many poppers are butyl nitrate or amyl nitrate. They cause a temporary increase in blood flow. This inducies a “rush” due to increased blood flow to the brain. Doctors use to prescribe amyl nitrate in capsules for heart patients. When needed the capsule was “popped” open to release the vapors. Thus the name poppers. It is a prescription drug. Amyl nitrate is illegally sold in bottles and sniffed for the purpose of a heightened response during sexual acts. The actual contents of the several forms of the drug in these bottles is not known or regulated, thus can be dangerous. *If swallowed call 911 or Poison Contol. *Contact with the skin causes irritation and rashes.
