Is 99-2002 year Cobra intake compatible on a 98 GT ?
Hey, I was wondering if 99-2002 year Cobra intake is compatible on a 98 GT? I thought I had seen some 1st generation 4.6 2V’s get Cobra intakes for the higher flow numbers (correct me if I am wrong) I know that the heads differ by 2 extra cams in the 98 Cobra to 98 GT and guys talk about the swapping of 99+ heads to a 98 to get those extra ponies found by Ford engineers but does a 99-02 upper intake manifold (or whole thing for that matter) swap out to the 2V 4.6’s from 98? My quest for more horsepower has me looking at some options. —–extrude honing my stock 98 heads ($995) and matching a intake —–extrude honing a set of aluminum heads I found on a CV 4.6 L 2V which would only run me ($750) plus the fact that I can get it done while still driving my car. What would be the +’s ro -‘s for using cast iron vs alum? (other than weight, are they more durable than the softer alum?)
