Is £60 to replace a taps washer expensive?
Very – just turn off your stopcock (water supply), let all the water drain from taps (make sure heating system is off whilst doing this) take the trim off the top of the tap – you will find a screw – undo that and top of tap will come off. you will them see a large nut on the assembly – undo that and whole tap innerds will come off. at the bottom of the assembly, you should find the remainder of the washer, secured by a tiny screw – remove that, clean seating, replace washer and screw, then put the whole thing back together – should take no longer than half an hour. good luck.
