Pyuria is pus in the urine. Yes, pus in the urine is not just a sign of pyuria, it IS pyuria. Pyuria is indicative of infection. A UTI is an infection. Pus is made of white cells. If there is also bacteria in the pus, it’s definitely a UTI. The normal range for WBCs in urine is 3-4.
