3-in-1 oil will gum up over time. I would not use it on any camera parts. Sewing machine oil is easily available at any sewing machine shop, fabric store, or the fabric/craft area of Walmart. It does not thicken over time. You’ll want just a tiny, tiny amount for a camera lens.
